My Review:

To start with, the cover of the book is really beautiful!! Cover was actually the thing due to which my attention got attracted to this book. It is blue based with Mint colored tree, having Red apples all over..Is it a treat to see and definitely going on to my display book cabinet in the living area. Not just that I found the Title also very interesting and unique!

We Indians have always heard that Kashmir is the heaven on the earth!! Might be not anymore!...Thanks to all Violence and disturbances in the valley.

Talking and writing about Kashmir and its issues is always controversial and not many authors generally want to go that alley. The author of this book Sanchit Gupta has managed well to depict the hardships and challenges that Kashmir locals have to face.

Also, the Author claims that the story is inspired by the true events...How after the night of 20 January 1990, lives of some people changed drastically!

It is story about Cultures, Revenge and Belongingness. It is a story about fate and destiny, which forces people to choose sides..

The Author has quite a detailed way of telling and explaining things and characters. He has written about the sensitive subjects in quite a balanced way without overdoing it. The story is filled with lots of twists and turns.

It is definitely a powerful story and has many layers into it. It not the kind of book you would just pick and read and forget! It is more of a hard hitting story, which sometimes push you to think of people who became victims of situations, which are beyond their control and how their lives are turned up and down.
The initial chapters give you a feel of Kashmir.. From Saffron Fields to Walnut and Apple trees...Autorikshaw Ride to Lal Chauk... The narration style is very interesting and thorough..The book is loaded with multiple emotions! The book portrays some of the toughest situations which only a Kashmiri can understand. It describes how lives of innocent people are shattered due to disturbances in the valley.

It makes you think about situations in life, where it is hard to decide what is wrong and what is right!
What makes you think more after reading this book is that, it is Inspired by the true events and not mere a fancy fiction!

The Binding and the quality of the pages are worth the price.

It is a beautifully written book and would require a little bit of patience to enjoy it fully.
