5 Beauty Products I Am Using From More Than 5 Years...

Hi Friends, Today i thought to do something new, not just a haul or a review post...So,i came up with a idea of doing a post about 5 Beauty Products that i have been using for more than 5 Years..I really thought it is a interesting idea and will be a great read for my readers!

Do follow my blog if you like this...
These are very basic and budget friendly products, which are also great to use..And that is the reason i don't think twice to repurchase these things for my vanity...So,here is a look....

What are the things i have:

1.Livon Hair Serum
2.Ayur Skin Toner
3.Lakme Foundation
4.Lotus Scrub
5.Johnson's Baby Powder

So,these are the products which are part of my Vanity from more than 5 years...Trust me all the products are worth their price..Even though none of the product is of the luxury range, all are from drugstore category...their performance is extremely good and totally suits my skin needs...Some of the products even my mom is also using from years and we do not have any complaint about it.

Let me tell you guys about these 5 products in brief:
1. Livon Hair Serum: This is actually Livon De tangling Hair Fluid which instantly softens and smoothens dry, rough and frizzy hair..After i take my hair bath, i always make it a point to apply little bit of this, so that my hair does not break while detangling. It also makes hairs soft and you will feel your hair more silky...For Daily use, i am totally satisfied with this product. It Retails for INR 215 for 100ml of product. It is very easily available in the Indian markets..even a small beauty shop has it..

2. Ayur Herbals Skin Toner: Ayur is also one of the brand known for its herbal products, which i totally love. This toner has Aloe Vera in it. It is suitable for all skin types..It really helps to clean my face thoroughly. It takes away any traces of makeup or dirt from my face..I really love this...It has a pretty pink color and a nice fragrance..Price is INR 50 for 100ml pf product..

3.Lakme Perfecting Liquid Foundation: Definitely this is one of the cheapest foundation available in the Indian market..I think it retails for around INR150...Now this is the foundation i have been using from my college days..that is when i started using foundation and i wanted something which was very basic and budget friendly.I am a person who does not always like full coverage foundation on my daily basis..So, if i am going on to my work or going for a shopping, i do not like to have my face totally packed up with high coverage foundation..I want something more of a natural and light finish..so i use this Lakme Foundation on that...Obviously, when i go to parties, i use a different Foundation with a high coverage and a better finish...So, for daily basis...this is a really good option...

4.Lotus Apricot Scrub: This scrub is so amazing...One of my always favorite daily use skin care product.. It does its job of cleaning the skin and removing all the dead cells gently.very nicely....It retails for INR 135 for 100 g of product. It also smells really good and refreshing..This product is always in my bathroom...Suitable for all skin types....

5. Baby Powder: Now this product is such a versatile product...You guys must have heard about its various uses...I would be doing a separate post about it..This product is so useful and so nice...Firstly, it is gentle on skin as compared to other talcum powders...It smells so mild and soft...Really affordable and easily available. INR 99 for 200 g of product, which is not at all bad or costly..In beauty and makeup also, it can be used for various uses..like touch up, baking, as a dry shampoo etc..
I use it regularly after taking my bath...from years n years....:)

Dry Skin Care Tips....How To Take Care Of Your Dry Skin...

Dry Skin Care Tips....How To Take Care Of Your Dry Skin...

Hi Friends, My last post was regarding 'Oily Skin Care tips', so in continuation of that series today i have 'Dry Skin Care Tips'..
How to keep your skin hydrated and maintain in a proper way...

The main problem or the most important aspect of Dry Skin, is to keep it hydrated..
Now,one can get or have a dry skin texture by birth or due to number of factors..Lets see in bit of a more detail:
  •  First and foremost reason is By Birth. One can have dry skin by birth...So it is God gifted.
  • As you age, your skin tends to reduce its oil content in it and moves towards dry or combination side..So, Age is the another factor
  • Very low consumption of water and Liquids
  • Wrong Eating habits
  • Improper Lifestyle or too much of stress
  • Being too much in sun or in pollution
  • Skin reacts differently in different seasons, so in Winters your skin tends to get more dry..
  • If you are living in a very Cold Areas..Like Hill Station etc where most of the time it is kind of winters, then obviously your skin can be more towards dry or combination side.
How To Take Care Of Your Skin, If It Is Dry:
  • The most important thing is to keep your skin hydrated..For this try to drink lots of water. Infact not only water for that matter, drink lots of Liquids..Be It a Fruit Juice or water or Lime Water etc. The main purpose is to keep your skin hydrated and moisturized.
  • Try to drink Coconut Water, if possible..Too good for Skin!
  • Always apply a good moisturizer. Now, for oily skin people it is always recommended to use light texture or gel based formulas...However, for you dry skin guys..try to pick more rich formulas...Only light and gel based formulas may not be sufficient to fulfill your skin moisture needs..Try to go for more thick and rich hydration...
  • Oils work great for dry skin..You can use Coconut Oil, Olive Oil or Baby oils...All work good for dry skin.Olive oil is quite rich in anti oxidants and works great to provide that right amount of moisture to skin or dry patches..
  • Facial oils are blessing...both for Oily skin or Dry skin...Just choose the right one..
  • Dry Skin often faces issues like flaky skin, dead accumulated cells thus making skin look dull and dry. Exfoliate. Guys, scrub or exfoliate your skin regularly...Once in a week...It really helps to clean all those dead cells and dry flaky skin..will help to get you a smooth skin...I have a full article on the benefits of Exfoliation..Check out that..   http://happychanceus.blogspot.in/2016/06/why-to-exfoliate-skin.html
  •  Take a proper diet..Eat lots of Fruits and Veggies..
  • Always think, see and then select a skin care or a beauty product. Do not follow the trend blindly. Just check whether the ingredients or the texture is suitable for dry skin or not...like if a beauty product is soap based, then definitely continuous use of that product will make your skin even more dry... Choose a product which is mild, not soap based..
  •  For Dry skin choose beauty or skin care products having oil or cream based rather than water or gel or soap based...So, that these products will help your skin to cope up its oil need.
  • If you have time or on weekends, try to make use of some of the natural products which are easily present in every household and works magically for dry skin like Olive Oil, Coconut Oil, Honey, Aloe Vera Gel, Curd, Milk....Try to use them for your skin care....There are so many ways to use them...Check out my blog for your suitable DIY...
  • So, the crux for Dry skin is "Keep Your Skin Hydrated"...The more your keep your skin moisturized, the more it will glow and will be soft..
Always Exfoliate your skin once in a week, apply good moisturizer.
Just think and then choose your skin care product....Hope this article is useful for you readers.

We always keep hearing and reading about scrubbing or exfoliation, if we want a smooth skin.

If your skin is looking dull and rough, the instant way which can help is exfoliation.

Great Uses of Coconut Oil:

Great Uses of Coconut Oil:

Hi Friends, today i would be sharing some of the amazing uses of coconut oil apart from using it as a hair oil. Some of benefits\uses of coconut oil are so great and it can also really help to save money on some of the costly high end beauty or skin care products.
Coconut oil has a anti bacterial property and anti fungal property which helps in deep conditioning of skin and hairs.
So, here we go:

  •  Most popular use of coconut oil is in hair oiling. Applying it 2 hours before taking bath on hairs and then washing it off  makes hairs so soft and shiny. Coconut oil can also be applied on hairs overnight, but oily skin people should avoid it since it makes face little oily which can lead to breakout(has happened with me). From ages coconut oil is considered as one of the best oil for hair growth and nourishment.
  • As a body moisturizer: In winters when our skin is so dry that sometime applying just a simple body lotion wont serve the purpose, you can opt for coconut oil. It can be used as skin moisturizer which helps to keep skin supple and soft more effectively. You can use it as it is or can be mixed with your favorite body lotion too.
  • Good for cuticles: Coconut oil has everything to take good care of nail cuticles. Applying coconut oil and massaging it properly on the cuticles will keep them soft.
  • Can be used as a Lip Scrub: Mixing coconut oil with sugar makes an excellent lip scrub. It really helps to exfoliate lips gently and removing the dead cells or skin, making them soft and supple.
  •  As a makeup remover: Why to spend money on all those expensive makeup removers when you have coconut oil in your kitchen. Yes, coconut oil removes all kind of makeup including those rigid water proof eyeliners and mascara. Take some oil on cotton pad, keep it on your eye for about 2-3 seconds so that it will break all the makeup and then wipe it off. Coconut oil will remove any kind of makeup like mascara, blush, foundation etc
  • As a shaving cream: If you are planning to shave your legs, try to put coconut oil on legs before it. Massage the oil on your legs and then shave off, it will leave your skin more smooth than a regular shaving.
  • Coconut oil is also know for delaying the process of wrinkles or having fine lines on skin. It can be used on stretch marks. So it do have a anti ageing property.
So, those were some of the benefits of coconut oil, i am sure there might be many more.
